Race Day

John completed his third marathon over the weekend when he finished the Twin Cities Marathon in 3 hours and 20 minutes, a time that was six minutes faster than his previous marathon in Cincinnati in 2007!! He ran a great race and was mentally and physically prepared for the race. His biggest hurdle ended up being the weather, a big factor with running that you really have no control over. It was a miserable day weatherwise....It was raining, windy, and cold. There was even a little thunder and lightening during the race. The boys and I went down for the finish and managed to see a little of the race and meet John afterwards. We had the weather shield on the jogging stroller so the boys were nice and toasty. Despite being very cold and tired, John did very well and is recovering well. We hope to celebrate with some of his running friends tonight at dinner. I did not get any good pictures of the race as we tried to maneuver a very large double jogging stroller through crowds of people and rain but the boys and I did well and managed to get one picture with John near the finish line.

Congratulations on a great race, John!
